James H. Grady [graphic]. 1945.

Photo submitted with certification application to the Arkansas Board of Barber Examiners by James H. Grady, age 59 in 1945, while he was living in Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas. Grady's first certification by the board in 1945 was sent to Missoula, Missoula County, Montana. From 1946 to 1949, his certificates went to Casper, Natrona County, Wyoming. His last date of certification was 1949. In a letter to the board in August of 1945, Grady explained that he moved to Montana and then Wyoming to follow his son who was called into the United States military service. Grady felt it was his fatherly duty to go with his son. Grady hoped to one day return to Arkansas and barber. However, according to his file, that did not happen.
